Meet Jonathan
Jonathan Campos is a proud lifelong resident of Precinct 2, a dedicated family man, and a committed servant of the community. He’s running to be your next Cameron County Commissioner because he believes in putting people first and solving problems that have been ignored for far too long.
Jonathan is a local business owner who, alongside his wife, runs a successful construction company. They also manage a small cattle operation at home. Previously, they owned and operated a beloved family restaurant in Brownsville, where Jonathan became well known for his generosity and community support. During Hurricane Harvey, he opened the restaurant doors to displaced families, offering meals at no cost for as long as they needed.
His strong work ethic and practical knowledge come from real-world experience—not politics. Jonathan spent four years working in Colorado, gaining invaluable experience in road and drainage construction. He returned to Texas as quickly as he could, bringing that expertise home to serve his community.
Jonathan is passionate about:
Faith, family, and community
Hunting, fishing, and the outdoors
Supporting and respecting law enforcement and first responders who keep our communities safe
Helping others and giving back without being asked
He’s not a career politician. He’s a hands-on problem solver who understands firsthand the frustrations of working with a slow and outdated county system. As someone in the construction industry, Jonathan has experienced the red tape of permitting and building regulations. That’s why he's committed to streamlining the permitting process—so building your dream home doesn't become a nightmare.
